At Yoel Lichtblau Law Office we assist people to obtain independence from family conflict and empower them confidently to more on to new challenges.

Family law was an area of law I initially avoided in my practice because I witnessed the damage it causes and the trauma it inflicts. The court process only made things worse as parties get caught up in conflict. However, through my estate and will practice clients increasingly came to me for help in their family disputes. They wanted a civil balanced approach that spared them the trauma and expense. Whether the issue is separation, parenting, property division, support, my approach has been from the start, problem solving, stay out of court and move the client back on to the path of recovery while sparing them and their children the pain and trauma.
In family law emotional charges constantly lurk. I aim to create a calming and empathetic environment for developing and facilitating thoughtful solutions so you can deal with the conflict and issues with a clear head. I sit with you, listen to you and discern what matters to you the most. We can then develop a personal strategy and manage the process for bringing the conflict to a satisfactory end.

Family professionals help design parenting plans and financial professionals help gather financial information. Both help all participants in the collaborative process as impartial neutrals to move discussions to settlement at lower cost to you.

I am an impassioned believer in the superior benefits of resolving family disputes through peaceful processes. As a Collaborative Lawyer I am singularly focused on guiding you towards the optimal settlement safeguarding your interests.
I bring proven negotiation skills and tools gained through many years of negotiation and experience in family crises. I have advanced training in collaborative practice, negotiation and mediation. I am a member of collaborative lawyers associations in Toronto and York Region and of the International Association of Collaborative Lawyers. I am an accredited mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediators (OAFM) and Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (FDRIO). Through my extensive background as counsel on commercial and financial matters I have legal knowledge in multiple non-family specific areas that are at play in complex and dynamic family conflicts.
